Max Mokarem leads standout weekend as team secures multiple top-10 finishes
ORLANDO, Fla. – Zanella Racing kicked off the 2026 USF Junior Presented by Continental Tire season in dominant fashion at Homestead-Miami Speedway, highlighted by a pair of victories from Max Mokarem and a podium result from Olivier Mrak across three action-packed races. Mokarem stole the show with two wins out of three races, capturing two podium finishes of the weekend for the team and establishing Zanella Racing as an early championship contender.
The strong results were supported by consistent performances throughout the lineup, with multiple drivers finishing inside the top-ten. With 10 top-10 finishes over the weekend, Zanella Racing will now shift its focus to the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and the start of the USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire program.
The USF Juniors season opener demonstrated both the depth and development within the Zanella Racing program, with drivers gaining valuable experience while consistently advancing through the field
“I could not be prouder of the effort from every driver and crew member this weekend,” expressed Team Owner Jose Zanella. “Max delivered two outstanding wins, and across the board we saw progress, smart racecraft and strong teamwork. Winning is exactly how we wanted to start the season and it sets the tone for what we believe will be a very competitive year. On the flip side, we had some issues, but as a team, worked through them to make sure our drivers had the best possible chance at success.”
Zanella continued, “A huge thank you to every member of the team. With an engine swap one day and a car swap the next, it was a busy week. We pushed forward and never gave up.”
With the USF Juniors opener complete, Zanella Racing now shifts focus to the first USF2000 Championship race of the season on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, competing alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

The team will field a single USF2000 entry for Leonardo Escorpioni during the weekend. The event schedule begins Friday with practice, qualifying and Race One.
