ORLANDO, Fla. – Zanella Racing overcame a challenging Fourth of July holiday weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, showcasing speed across its seven-car lineup during the latest round of the USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire championship. Competing alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, the team battled through on-track incidents, setbacks and post-race penalties while continuing to demonstrate the depth of its driver lineup.
Race One saw Max Mokarem lead the Zanella Racing effort with a strong sixth-place finish after another competitive drive. Grant Mitchell also recorded a top-10 result, crossing the line in 10th. Maddie Colleran continued her impressive development by charging forward five positions to finish 13th. Leonardo Serravalle followed closely behind in 14th after overcoming adversity during the race, while Victor Couto completed the team's finishers in 15th. Olivier Mrak's race ended just two laps from the finish after an otherwise promising run, while Jared Oselka's day came to an early conclusion after becoming involved in a first-lap incident.
The team rebounded in Race Two with another determined performance. This time it was Jared Oselka leading the charge, putting together an impressive recovery drive to finish eighth. Mokarem added another points-paying result in 11th. Serravalle crossed the finish line seventh after an exceptional drive through the field, but a post-race penalty relegated him to 12th in the official results. Colleran and Mitchell once again delivered consistent performances, finishing 14th and 15th, respectively. Mrak and Couto both encountered difficulties that saw them fail to complete the full race distance.
Despite the weekend's challenges, Team Owner Jose Zanella remained encouraged by the determination shown throughout the organization.
"Mid-Ohio was one of those weekends where the results don't fully tell the story. We had several cars showing strong pace, but penalties, incidents, and a bit of bad luck kept us from maximizing what we were capable of. What impressed me most was the resilience of our drivers and crew. Everyone kept fighting until the very end, and that's something we'll build on as we head into Lime Rock. I know this group has the talent to finish much further up the order, and we're looking forward to another opportunity this weekend."
The team now quickly turns its attention to the penultimate event of the 2026 USF Juniors Championship at Lime Rock Park. The weekend will begin Friday with practice and qualifying before a doubleheader race day on Saturday.
With only two race weekends remaining in the championship, Zanella Racing heads to Lime Rock Park determined to convert the speed shown at Mid-Ohio into strong results as the 2026 season enters its final stretch.
