Multiple Championship-Winning Team to Unveil at Barber

ANGLETON, Texas – Ram Racing will expand its current motorsports operation to a two-car squad in USF Juniors Presented by Cooper Tires beginning with the second round on the 2023 schedule – a doubleheader at Barber Motorsports Park in support of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES headline event. Reigning 2022 NACAM Formula 4 champion Juan Felipe Pedraza will return to the team as the first confirmed driver as he sets his sights on a career in North America open-wheel racing.

Pedraza, 18, of Bogota, Colombia, wrapped up his F4 title with a round to spare after a pair of wins in Mexico City. He began a successful karting career in 2013 and made the move to cars in 2022, claiming eight wins, four runner-up finishes and seven poles in F4.

Ram Racing is best known for its success in NACAM Formula 4 competition. Since 2015, the team has been a dominant force claiming five championships with drivers Axel Matus, Calvin Ming, Manuel Sulaiman, Noel Leon and, most recently, Colombian talent Pedraza.

Headquartered at MSR Houston, Ram Racing was founded by team owner Jose Antonio Ramos in 1996, initially to support his son’s budding career in Formula Reynard, a support series for Mexico Formula 3 and F3000. Back-to-back championships followed, as well as a progression to F3 and a championship-winning season in 2000. Jose Antonio Ramos Junior retired from his racing career in 2002 but continues in a role as driver coach and team manager.

Alongside business partner Jean Paul Mansur, Ramos and Ram Racing will continue to contest NACAM Formula 4 as it begins its journey on the first step of the USF Pro Championships ladder.
