Delivers Standout Recovery Drive at USF Juniors Round Two in South Carolina

Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) – Berg Racing demonstrated resilience and race pace during the second round of the USF Juniors Championship at Carolina Motorsports Park, with driver Alex Berg executing a series of determined recovery drives across all three races of the weekend.

The event proved challenging from the outset, as technical issues during qualifying prevented Berg from setting a representative lap time. As a result, the team approached Race 1 strategically, electing to start from the pit lane in order to maximize track time, refine the car’s setup and establish a lap time for Race 2.

That measured approach paid dividends. In Race 2, Berg lined up in P8 and delivered an impressive charge through the field to secure a podium finish in P3, showcasing both racecraft and the team’s rapid development of the car setup.

“It’s incredible to secure a P3 finish for our single car entry, Berg Racing Team," said Berg. "Yesterday in qualifying I faced an issue which had me only complete a single flying lap before having to retire. Thanks to the hard work from the team, we managed to get the car back out in Race 1 and set a good lap time to improve our starting spot in Race 2 to P8. From then on, it was up to me to make it happen. I was fortunate to get a good start, moving up to P5 on the first lap and ultimately finishing on the podium.

"Our operation is very small, and I am extremely grateful to everyone on the crew that has made this happen. These types of results will be happening more and more as the season goes on.”

For Race 3, with no qualifying time on record and the grid set based solely on qualifying results, Berg started from P20. Undeterred, he once again demonstrated strong pace and consistency, advancing 12 positions to finish P8 and cap off a productive weekend for the team.

“I’m very proud of the effort put in by everyone on the team and although we did not come away with the results we are hoping for, I believe that we have proven that we will be a force to be reckoned with for the remainder of the USF Juniors Championship,” said Allen Berg, Team Principal of Berg Racing.

Despite the early setbacks, Berg Racing leaves CMP with clear momentum, having demonstrated both competitive pace and the ability to adapt under pressure. The team now turns its focus to the next round at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (formerly known as Mosport), scheduled for May 15–17.
